In a birthday celebration that will be forever etched in memory, a 7-year-old gem enthusiast, Aspen Brown, experienced an extraordinary surprise during her visit to Arkansas’s Crater of Diamonds State Park. While marking her seventh birthday at the park, Aspen stumbled upon a dazzling 2.95-carat golden brown diamond—a gift from the Earth itself.

In what can only be described as an extraordinary birthday gift, a 7-year-old girl visiting Arkansas’s Crater of Diamonds State Park stumbled upon a dazzling 2.95-carat golden brown diamond. This budding gemologist, Aspen Brown, celebrated her seventh birthday at the park and unearthed a remarkable treasure during her visit.

This precious find is no small feat; it ranks as the second-largest diamond discovery by a park guest this year, surpassed only by a 3.29-carat brown diamond unearthed in March, as reported by park officials.

Aspen’s journey of discovery unfolded while she was exploring the park’s northeast search area with her dad and grandmother. Amidst the gravel pathway, she picked up a gem roughly the size of a green pea. Little did she know, this unassuming gem would turn out to be a genuine diamond.

The diamond, with its captivating golden-brown hue and a glistening luster, stands as a complete crystal with no broken facets, adorned with a small crevice—a testament to its natural formation. Waymon Cox, assistant park superintendent, remarked, “It’s certainly one of the most beautiful diamonds I’ve seen in recent years.”

Aspen’s remarkable find is not an isolated incident; the park witnesses the discovery of one or two diamonds by visitors on a daily basis. Since a farmer first identified diamonds on this land, over 75,000 diamonds have been found at the site.

This 37-acre field, where visitors can embark on their treasure hunts, is an eroded surface of a volcanic crater, making it a unique geological site. Alongside diamonds, the park yields other precious gems such as amethysts and garnets, offering a truly enchanting experience for all who explore its grounds. (USnewsSphere)
